John Thies has been studying, performing and teaching improvisation for more than twenty years.  He is an alumni of Chicago's
The Second City where he received a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for 'Best Actor in a Revue'.  

In New York, he was responsible for designing the curriculum for The Second City Training Center, NY., as well as, serving as
Vice-President of Nada 45, a theatre that
Time Out Magazine called,  "...the place to find New York's best and brightest comedic talent."

As a performer, John was a founding member of the critically-acclaimed
Burn Manhattan, an improvised show that ran Off-Broadway
for several years.  He has also appeared on
SNL and as a regular on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Now, as founder and Artistic Director of  Hothouse Improvisation, John is teaching, directing and performing in Los Angeles.
